Children truly are a blessing to their parents! This month we have enjoyed watching Jackson learn new things! I think Jackson's favorite children's song is "Daddy's Homecoming". Every day when Zach gets home Jackson brightens up and then coos and talks to him! He definitely knows who daddy is! It is only recently that he has started talking to me...I'm not just the fridge, I'm mommy too! More and more he is starting to do his cute little 1/2 smiles and occasionally a full smile ( it wasn't gas)! There have been a couple days I have gone to get him up from his nap and he stared directly in my eyes and gave me the cutest smile! Melts my heart every time!
He has also discovered his hands...he tries so hard to get them to fit completely in his mouth, so far no luck. He has managed to grab a hold of our fingers and successfully get some of them in his mouth but most of the time they end up at his chin. We have a little rattle for him that when placed in his hand he will hold onto until his fingers go white...its a learning experience!
For fun, I decided to let Jackson watch some TV...Baby Einstein was the selected entertainment. Jackson is going to fit right in with Daddy and Mommy...couch potato.
Any parent will remember the wonderful days when their child ( children) received their first, second & third doses of vaccines. Today our little man got to experience that. He did really well before, during, cried briefly after and then promptly fell asleep. He was still ok until right before his next nap. He fussed a little but finally fell asleep again. Then after about 40 minutes he woke crying like crazy...I promise I didn't touch him! The crying continued on and off for about an hour until I got him to fall asleep in my arms...and that is where he is as I attempt to type with one hand . Hopefully the rest of the evening goes well!
March 21-27th we were blessed to have our parents come and visit! It was fun letting them relax and enjoy time with both of their youngest grandson. I know Jackson enjoyed the time as his cooing was ever present! Occassionally he would pull out his half grins and full smiles (gas/bubbles not present!). Besides seeing & spending time with Jackson both grandparents were present for his baby blessing! The blessing was held on a beautiful sunny evening surrounded by family. What a wonderful experience it was to have both grandparents and at least one set of great grandparents present! As for the little man of the hour, he was present in his cute little white outfit! He behaved well for the most part, only crying a few times as he recently caught a cold and was trying to fight it off (he still has the cold and a cough now but he is on the mend and the dr. says he is fine). It is such a wonderful experience to watch your little child being blessed by the one you love! Life is bliss!
With a short break between mini vacation and baby blessing Jackson decided that tummy time was fun! What started out as fun turned into a learning experience for him as he pushed himself off the floor, rolled to his side and then stretched his torso so he returned promptly to his back! Our little man is so strong!
Shortly upon arriving home we had the pleasure of spending time with Kellene, Dean and the kids! My how they are growing fast! It was great spending time with them and letting cousins meet for the first time!
Last summer Zach worked on a research project that concluded with him presenting his research in Miami! If you want to know more about the findings, talk to Zach, I couldn't tell you about it as well as he can. Anyhow, we decided it would be fun to take a mini family vacation! Don't worry, we were right! Jackson, who was about six weeks old, did fabulous! He slept most other airplane ride there and back! It's definitely a lot easier flying without little children but Jackson made it look like a walk in the park...at least that's what I thought, Zach may beg to differ. Overall, our mini vacation was much needed and appreciated! It was also loads of fun spending time on the beach with Zach's younger sister, Michaela, for her birthday! Talk about best birthday ever! See new nephew...check, walk/play on Miami Beach...check! We enjoyed every moment. We were definitely sad to leave and come back to reality.
The month of February was pretty basic. Mom Kendrick came out to help at the beginning of the month. What a relief it was to be able to nap during the day and have mom watch Jackson while he was awake! For the rest of the month Jackson did his normal routine...eat, sleep, poop, keep mommy & daddy awake. Although tiring and repetitive at times, we couldn't have asked for a better little man! We love Jackson so much and are blessed to have him in our lives!
Oh, I almost forgot...
Jackson's umbilical cord fell off ( yes I know Zach posted a picture) and that meant we were able to give him a bath! It was a new experience that he didn't like so much in the beginning. The more baths he gets the more he enjoys them! I love giving him baths and just having him stare at me like..."mommy, are you done yet? I want to go watch daddy make faces and talk to him." I love it!

I know there is still more to write about but it is going to have to wait...so if you are actually reading this, stay tuned for more pictures, videos and a "brief" message from me with past events in the life of the Kendrick family!

Jackson is a cutie! It sounds like you are adjusting well and enjoying the ride. Keep posting those "pictures to come." We look forward to them.
